Classes & Seminars

Small classes are provided for adults who do not have a high school diploma and would therefore like to earn a GED (General Educational Development) diploma. The class meets Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon in the BoulderReads! computer lab and features one teacher and four volunteers (all are retired teachers). Preregistration is required; call 720-561-5826.

Babies (birth-12 months) and their caregivers explore language and books in a fun and intimate setting. Programs include rhymes, songs and books as well as time for free play and informal discussion of early childhood development. Attendance limited to babies up to 12 months of age; no older children please.

Improve your English skills! Practice conversational English with an American English native speaker. Ability to converse in English is required.

Sponsored by the Boulder Library Foundation, Reading Buddies is a program of BoulderReads! for children in Kindergarten through fifth grade who struggle with reading. The children are each matched one-to-one to their own big buddy who will meet with them weekly for 13 weeks. The big buddies are all CU students who receive college service learning credit for the time they spend working with their little buddies, and are trained by BoulderReads! to read aloud to their little buddies and help them identify their own tastes in reading. This great program is made possible by a grant from the Boulder Library Foundation, as well as by in-kind donations from the University of Colorado and CU students.

Crawlers and beginning toddlers (9-24 months) explore language and books with their caregivers in a fun and intimate setting.
