Family board games

Want to take a last chance to relax before school begins? Come to the library to enjoy an afternoon of board games for the whole family! Tie yourself in knots with Twister, see how tall you can stack Jenga blocks, or send an opponent back to Start...Sorry!

Crawlers and beginning toddlers (9-24 months) explore language and books with their caregivers in a fun and intimate setting. Programs include rhymes, songs and books as well as time for free play and informal discussion of early childhood development. Attendance limited to crawlers and beginning toddlers up to 24 months of age; no older children please.

A 40 minute storytime to engage children with read-alouds, songs, action rhymes, finger play and more! Together we will learn sounds, letter recognition, new words and a love of books. Younger siblings are welcome.

Parents, caregivers and kids are welcome to stay and picnic in the storytime room for lunch and social time to share with one another. Please bring your own blankets and lunch.

Bring your Bitsbox, Scratch, Digital Sandbox, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, and more projects to the Open Hack sessions with Coder Dojo. Drop in any time from 4-6pm. Volunteers and experienced coders will be on hand to help you debug your code when things aren't working or provide ideas to take it to the next level. You will also be able to show off your creations on the big screen. This is not a class but rather a community building event to help kids and teens expand their creativity as they apply their technical skills in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. Beginners to advanced coders are welcome and parents encouraged to participate! Bring your own laptop if you can. The library has a very limited supply of Laptops and Digital Sandboxes for youth to use.

Do you like LEGOs? Do you like stories? Then you'll love LEGO club at the George Reynolds Branch Library! Join us the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month from 4 pm to 5 pm for a LEGOextravaganza. We start by reading stories, then build lego creations based on the story theme. If you're a great LEGO builder, or a first timer, this is the place for you.
